Private cloud

Cloud infrastructure dedicated to a single organization, often inside that organization's own cloud account.

Private cloud keeps the operational advantages of cloud — managed databases, elasticity, infrastructure as code — while removing shared tenancy. The organization controls the account, the region and often the encryption keys.

It differs from on-premise, where the organization owns and operates physical hardware. Private cloud is usually the practical compromise for regulated buyers who cannot use shared SaaS but do not want to run data centres.
